Have you ever visited the Fashion & Textile Museum in London?
It is a recent discovery for me but one I would recommend.
We had some time off at the beginning of February and decided to spend it in London.
Whilst planning what we would cram into our few days there I came across information for a Liberty in Fashion exhibition.
As a big fan of Liberty designs, how could it not go on the list!
As it turned out, the museum was only a 15 minute walk from our hotel so after checking in in the afternoon we headed off for a nosey.
It doesn’t look much from the outside and isn’t huge but it was a really interesting exhibition and well worth the visit.
The exhibits were spread across different rooms that you moved through in sequence. The first had this well used settee and cushions which you could sit on and read the timeline on the wall which took you through the history of the Liberty company.
This is a close up of wallpaper used in the display.
It was tricky taking photos as the lighting was quite low and moody.
It must have taken ages to create the background for this dress as it is layered peacock feathers.
I love this detail on the dress above.
I’m a sucker for a lovely bit of detail!
And now for lots of beautiful smocking….
Back to lots of colour and still moving through the decades…
Now for something special!!
If you are a Liberty Fiend AND a Shoe Addict then this is for you….
Now it turns out that Liberty have been collaborating with none other than JIMMY CHOO, be still my beating heart!!!!
And for those who are more into trainers than heels, fear not…
This is an example of one of the cases with note books and samples on display.
Did you recognise any of the designs?
HAPPY EASTER TO YOU!
Thank you for stopping by, it is much appreciated…
