CQ Elements Challenge at Event City

Image

Thought I’d share the photos I took of some of the inspiring work on display at Event City on Friday this week.  Hopefully it will brighten up a very dreary Sunday.

My Stitched Resist Shibori

Image

My latest Shibori creations.

I have resisted the urge to spend time on stitched resists but think I might be hooked!

Have definitely fallen in love with this one which has already sparked an idea for another piece.

My Journal Quilts 2017 so far

Image

I have been a ‘lurker’ in the Quilters’ Guild Contemporary Group for quite a while and this year decided to join in with the Journal Quilts challenge.  Each quilt has to be 11″ square but you could choose your own theme and design.

I chose the Theme of ‘Colour’.

I wanted to use similar techniques but different colours, playing with the position of the square and starting point of the spiral.  The intention is that the set of 12 will hang together as a whole piece so the placement of the colours, square and quilting were part of the design.

Techniques: hand dyeing, fusible appliqué, spiral quilting

Here are mine so far…
