Workshop Details:

  • Full Day: 9am – 4.30pm
  • Number of places: maximum of 6 attendees to ensure everyone receives appropriate one to one support
  • Suitable for: new to free motion quilting but proficient at using your own sewing machine and able to create a quilt ‘sandwich’
  • Venue: Croft Memorial Village Hall, Mustard Lane, Croft, Warrington, WA3 7BQ
  • Cost: £40 + £5 supplies per person (due in full at time of booking)

Who are the classes suitable for?
Quilters who are keen to learn FMQ but don’t really know where to start.  You may have had a go but felt it was too difficult to do and given up. Together, we break down the different components of FMQ so you go away understanding what they are and where to start with each of them.

One to One Tuition
The classes have been designed to be on the smaller side to ensure that each person in the group has the opportunity to also receive individual support to ensure that they are confident with their own machine and can continue to practice successfully at home.

I use a number of different pieces of equipment when I am free motion quilting and you will have the opportunity to see these being used and more importantly to try these out throughout the day as it is always disappointing to buy a piece of equipment or gadget to later find that it isn’t as useful as you thought. This is a great way to try before you might buy!

Practice, Practice, Practice
One of the most important aspects of FMQ is practice and we will work together completing exercises and problem solving along the way.

Your FMQ Journey
All you learn and discover on the day will be captured in your own ‘FMQ Journal’, making sure that you can reference this time and time again and of course continue to add to it at home.

About The Venue
I have to say that the venue for the May dates is perfect for classes.  It is a large hall with plenty of space and great light. There is a large free car park to the rear of the building with direct access to the hall and there are no stairs. There is also a large kitchen.

The Class at Your Group Venue
If you belong to a group and there are 6 of you who would like to take the class but would prefer to organise your own suitable venue and for me to travel to you then that option is also available.  I would be very happy to arrange this with you so please contact me to discuss dates and costs etc.
