A weekend full of creativity

Image

I am ashamed to say that in all the years I have lived in Manchester, I have never been inside Manchester Cathedral.

That was remedied last Saturday with a visit to Manchester Print Fair which was filled with lots of talented stall holders which you can see here

You will not be surprised that I couldn’t resist photos of some of the cathedral’s textiles.

and of course those windows!

On Sunday I spent the afternoon at one of my favourite places, The Palm House in Sefton Park.

Pop Up in the Palm House hosted lots of talented makers and of course I was tempted!

Check out the future dates of these events, they are well worth attending.

Thank you for stopping by, it is much appreciated…

My Journal Quilts 2017 so far

Image

I have been a ‘lurker’ in the Quilters’ Guild Contemporary Group for quite a while and this year decided to join in with the Journal Quilts challenge.  Each quilt has to be 11″ square but you could choose your own theme and design.

I chose the Theme of ‘Colour’.

I wanted to use similar techniques but different colours, playing with the position of the square and starting point of the spiral.  The intention is that the set of 12 will hang together as a whole piece so the placement of the colours, square and quilting were part of the design.

Techniques: hand dyeing, fusible appliqué, spiral quilting

Here are mine so far…
