As promised in the previous post about Painted Fusible Web here are more photos from the class I taught at Patchwork Parade this week.  This time sharing the fabulous prints the Lovely Ladies created using Blue Foam Block Printing.

This is a sample block I had made and the prints onto fabric.

The group started with a blank block each and following a demonstration from me, created their own design and away they went.
I was so busy admiring the work they were creating, I nearly forgot to take the photos!Class at Patchwork Parade Blue Foam Stamp 1Class at Patchwork Parade Blue Foam Stamp 3 Class at Patchwork Parade Blue Foam Stamp 2Class at Patchwork Parade Blue Foam Stamp 4Class at Patchwork Parade Blue Foam Stamp 5Class at Patchwork Parade Blue Foam Stamp 6

Class: Painted Fusible Web

Image

A great time was had by all (especially me!) on Thursday evening this week at Phil Langford’s lovely shop Patchwork Parade in Chadderton where I was kindly invited to teach Painted Fusible Web and Blue Foam Block Printing.

We started with Painted Fusible Web and here are some photos from the class hard at work.

I shared some samples I had made, gave them instructions and a demonstration of how to paint the Bondaweb (piece below) and they were away!Class at Patchwork Parade Painted Fusible painted 3Class at Patchwork Parade Painted Fusible painting 1Class at Patchwork Parade Painted Fusible painting 2Class at Patchwork Parade Painted Fusible painted 1Class at Patchwork Parade Painted Fusible painted 2

Because the painted pieces need to be left to dry completely, I had prepared some in advance so the group would be able to move onto the next stage.

Once the design was decided upon it was time to iron the composition onto card and fabric.Class at Patchwork Parade Painted Fusible ironed 2Class at Patchwork Parade Painted Fusible ironed 3Class at Patchwork Parade Painted Fusible ironed 4

And of course the background fabric doesn’t have to be white..

I am so looking forward to seeing the finished results.

Patchwork Parade (postcode OL9 9SH) stock Bondaweb so if you fancy having a go then you can purchase it there.  Why not give them a visit and see what else they can tempt you with!

I will do a separate post about the Blue Foam Block Printing we did, showing you more of the groups fabulous work at the class.

Thank you for stopping by, it is much appreciated…

East Lancs Area Day – Oldham

Image

The weather played nicely on Saturday and provided a nice journey around the M60 to Chadderton.  There was some fabulous sky to admire early in the morning, especially from the top of Barton Bridge.  It would be fab if you could take pictures from up there and stay alive!

It took me longer to set up than I wanted, which is always the case so I shouldn’t be surprised.  Below is a picture from part of my stand of the Colour Collection fabrics and you can just see the Rust and Shibori fabric on display in the background (more about all of these in future posts).

There were lots of lovely ladies who attended the day, first for the talk in the morning by Pat Archibald and then to participate in the workshop in the afternoon.

If you are interested in workshops with Pat Archibald then do contact Philomena at Patchwork Parade as I know there are more scheduled for next year.

Thank you to everyone who bought from me on Saturday and to those of you who are interested in the workshops that I am currently in planning stages of.  I look forward to seeing you again soon.

Well it’s nose back to the grindstone of thinking and planning and lots of doing!

Thank you for stopping by, it is much appreciated…
